God Has Not Forgotten You

1 Samuel 16:11 – And Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, “There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here.”

Proverbs 3:5 & 6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Blessed of the Lord, sometimes it may seem as if God and all of heaven has forgotten about you. But I am here to tell you that is not the case. Please take a brief moment and read about a (seemingly) forgotten young man that became King.

Regardless of what you’re going through you are not forgotten by God. At a time when jobs are hard to find, plans don’t seem to be working out, families are stressed, marriages are struggling, and your praying and doing everything you know to do sometimes one can begin to think, “Has God forgotten me/us?” Let me encourage you that the plans God has for you are not dormant or dead, they are not forgotten, and they are for the good of them that Love Him. David was a young man who was forgotten and left out by his father and family. God had a plan for David to be King of Israel and sent a man to anoint him as such. Upon arriving at the home of David and his family all the brothers were gathered together and prepared and made ready to meet this important messenger from God. David being one of the brothers was left out of the preparation and seemingly forgotten. Beloved the plans that God has for you cannot be stopped no matter who or what is in the way. As long as we continue to trust in Him, look to Him, and lean not on our own understanding of the situation God will accomplish what He has purposed for us. The messenger sent by God, after looking at all of the well dressed, properly prepared brothers, asked a question: “Are all the young men here?” Praise God that His eyes are always seeing and looking at us even when it seems as if we’re being looked over. David arrives unprepared, dirty, and smelling of sheep. Precious children of the Lord, Gods loving faithfulness isn’t stopped by where you’ve been or what you’ve been doing. God has a plan for you, your family, your business, your job, etc., right now. No matter what you are going through don’t lose heart, don’t lose your faith, don’t quit and give in to fear, complacency, or anxiousness. Wait on the Lord (Psalm 27:14) with an expectation of seeing His goodness in your life and situations. The Lord our God is faithful in His great love for us. Declare with me, “The Lord will perfect (complete) that which concerns me. His mercy endures forever and He has not forsaken me, for I am the work of His own hands.” In the above story of David (the forgotten young man), he reigned as King of Israel just as God had promised. He had been forgotten, chased by his enemies, threatened with death, and committed sin, yet nothing could stop God’s plan for His life. God has a plan for your life and that of your family. Cast yourself and all your cares upon Him, wait on Him, move as the Lord leads and guides you, and know that you are not forgotten.

Pray: Lord I thank you that your thoughts of me are more in number than the sands of the earth and that you are well aware of everything that concerns me. Forgive me for anything I have done that has not been or is not pleasing to you. Help me to trust in you, lean not on my own understanding, continually acknowledge my need for you in my life and move with you as you lead and guide me and my family. In Jesus name – Amen!

Psalm 138:8 – The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.
