In spite of the fear

2 Timothy 1:7 – For God has not given us a Spirit of Fear, but of power

and of love and of a sound mind.

Precious brothers and sisters of the Most High, now more than ever so many people find themselves dealing with fear and anxiety because of the circumstances in their every day lives. Be encouraged, God has provided us with the tools to overcoming fear and moving forward in victory.

Beloved, in this day and time so many people are being attacked and are walking with fear – Fear in their marriages, fear that the mortgage won’t get paid, fear of losing their job, fear that you won’t find a job, fear that nothing is going to change, fear that you’re prayers won’t get answered, fear that your children will go astray and stay that way, fear that you won’t be able to feed your family, fear that you won’t be able to finish school, fear that your dreams are dead, fear that this is as good as it gets, fear of getting sick, and on and on and on. Precious brothers and sisters of the Most High, what God wants us to understand is that walking in faith is not the absence of being attacked with fear. At the moment when fear comes and seems to cripple us it is because of an absence of faith in a particular area. Walking in faith is trusting God in spite of the fear and continuing to move forward standing on (believing in and declaring) the word of God.

The above verse says, “God has not given us a spirit of fear…”, that doesn’t mean the enemy won’t try to give you a spirit of fear. That doesn’t mean that circumstances of life won’t attack your faith and cause you to at times be afraid. However, faith says that in spite of the fear, God I’ll trust you. In spite of the fear I’m going to praise you Lord. In spite of the fear, with tears running down my face and with a heavy heart, I’m going to stand on your promises, declare your word and trust you Lord until your peace manifests (is established) in my heart because of your faithfulness and my faith in you for every situation I encounter. Faith declares, in spite of the fear I know God loves me, is aware of my every situation, and is working it out for my good (Rom 8:28, Psalm 138:8). Faith in God’s faithfulness causes us to cry out, “I may not understand what’s going on in my life right now, I may not understand why things seem to keep going down hill, but God I know that in the Spirit it’s not what it looks like (Hebrews 11:1), therefore I’ll lift my voice and praise you Lord.” In 2 Samuel 6:14-18; our brother Elisha was asleep in a cave and when his servant awoke and went out he saw that an army surrounded them. Elisha being awoken by the frightened servant said, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

Beloved, all of heaven is with you! Stand up today and declare with the faith of God in you – “Devil you’re a liar! God has given me a spirit of power and of love and a sound mind. The Lord God almighty is still on the throne and He reigns supreme in the affairs of my life and that of my family. His thoughts toward me are to give me a future and a hope, to prosper me even as my soul prospers, for if God be for me than who can stand against me!” Contend for your faith until every seed of doubt is removed and every fear is vanished by the faith of God in you, the promises of His word and the declaration of your praise.
