Today!!!

Perhaps we could have done better. Perhaps things could have gone a bit better. Perhaps people could have treated us better. Did you notice that was all that could have been better, it was all yesterday? If you are reading this then that means you have been granted another day, a new day to live out, the day we call TODAY!

Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.  Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind.  Philippians 3:13-15

This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.  Psalm 118:24

TODAY is a very special day because it is the only day we have to live in, so we should make it a day that we strive toward the greater things of God in Christ; glorious things! It would appear that this is how our elder brother Paul the Apostle saw each new day. It’s a new day beloved! Perhaps we should check our heavy bags of resentment, remorse, bitterness, unforgiveness and regret at our awakening and not carry them into our new day. Let’s start our day by getting alone with God and allowing him to take those weights out of our hands and hearts and off our minds. We can just hand over all of our hurts, disappointments, failures, frustrations and unforgiveness, he can handle it. Let him take the responsibility for setting things right. Now we are ready to be joyous in our new day, TODAY! Now we are ready to walk with Jesus and go where we can be more of a blessing to others and to where we ourselves can be blessed! (Psalm 84:5-7)  Each day brings with it new possibilities and new challenges. Yesterday may have been a good day or it may have been a bad day but we don’t live there, it is now in the past. Did you know that even your best day yesterday, does not hold the promises of God for you today? (Jeremiah 29:11)  So today we have been granted another opportunity to be in God’s presence and find in him what we need for today. (Matthew 6:11)  If we seek, we will find there his strength, his grace, his favor and his wisdom. We should find these things to be refreshing and revitalizing to our spirits. Now we have laid before us a fresh start and God’s glorious opportunities that are as ripe as the fruit of Canaan! As we approach his throne of grace through Christ Jesus he has all these things in store for us! (Numbers 13:26-27) (Hebrews 4:16) Leave yesterday, live today in Christ, it’s a PRESENT!

Lamentations 3:22-23 – The LORD’S loving-kindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. (NASB)

Beloved, Today is the best day of the rest of your life!

Prayer:  Lord I thank you for the opportunity you have given me with this new day to walk in, experience, and act in your plans, for my good.  Help me, through the power of the Holy Spirit to release all hindrances that I am holding onto in my heart. Help me lay aside every weight and the sin that would keep me from living this day that you have made to fullest for your glory.  In the name of Jesus who is the Christ – Amen!
