In Pursuit of God’s Wisdom
Greetings on this beautiful Monday morning, Loved Ones! I am grateful for the blessing of waking up to this new beginning…called today. Blessings upon blessings shower me as I meditate on His overflowing love. He is worthy of all our praise!
2 Samuel 22:50 AMP – “For this I will give thanks and praise You, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing praises to Your name.”
As this pandemic looms on, I think about the losses that have been experienced. Of course, the thousands and thousands of loved ones who have succumbed to the coronavirus grieve the hearts of countless survivors. I pray that they experience GOD’s presence, His comforting love and peace.
There have been many other losses, as well. Many who have had businesses, particularly, small businesses, have had to endure major tests. Many small business owners are grieving that their entrepreneurial pursuits did not survive the tests of endurance. On the other hand, some businesses have struggled a bit and are regaining their footing. Yet, others took account of their situation and then, seemingly right away, pivoted their business to focus on serving and supporting their community. I can’t help but wonder if having a relationship with GOD, spending time in prayer and seeking His wisdom have made the significant difference in these outcomes.
Consider King Solomon at the start of his reign. He humbled himself before GOD because he knew that his capacity to fulfill that position was very limited. So, what did he ask of GOD?
1 Kings 3:7,9 -AMP – “So now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king in place of David my father; and as for me, I am but a little boy [in wisdom and experience]; I do not know how to go out or come in [that is, how to conduct business as a king]…So give Your servant an understanding mind and a hearing heart [with which] to judge Your people, so that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge and rule this great people of Yours?”
You probably know already what GOD’s answer to King Solomon’s prayer was. Every time I read it, I am in absolute awe! My confidence and expectant hope in GOD’s Word are renewed.
1 Kings 3:10-14 AMP – Now it pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this thing. God said to him, “Because you have asked this and have not asked for yourself a long life nor for wealth, nor for the lives of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to recognize justice, behold, I have done as you asked. I have given you a wise and discerning heart (mind), so that no one before you was your equal, nor shall anyone equal to you arise after you. I have also given you what you have not asked, both wealth and honor, so that there will not be anyone equal to you among the kings, for all your days. If you walk in My ways, keeping My statutes and My commandments, as your father David did, then I will lengthen your days.”
It doesn’t matter to GOD what your status is. When you approach Him as King Solomon did, acknowledging that who you are and what you know is moot in comparison to His greatness and asking for His wisdom, watch what He will do for you.
Prayer: Benevolent and Wise GOD, thank You for Your Word that says we can come to You and ask for Your wisdom to guide us through the decisions and circumstances in our lives, that You will give to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to us. With unwavering faith in Your promises, we believe they manifest in our lives now in JESUS’ Name. Amen.
Love Always,
