Lamentations 3:22 & 23 – Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
Beloved – Did you know that today (everyday) is the greatest day of the rest of your life? Today is the greatest day of God’s plans for you and all that concerns you.
Sometimes our lives can become so hectic, so busy, so concerned with how we are going to accomplish this, or get over that, or how we will deal with certain issues that life brings or has brought us that we forget that God has a plan for us and that his plans for us every day are for our good; to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope).
Notice the above word in Lamentations says, “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” Every morning the Lord’s mercies are new and His faithfulness always has our well being on His mind and heart. We may not always understand why certain things happen or why we have to struggle through what seems to be so much hardship or heartache or delayed answered to prayer, but the Lord’s thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways. We will not always understand why a certain thing is, or how a situation is going to workout, but it is in the knowledge of God’s great love for us that we find peace and becomes the foundation of our trust in Him.
Beloved today is the greatest day of the rest of your life because the Lord’s thoughts are on you and everything that concerns you. Psalm 139:17 – How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O’God! How great is the sum of them! Every minute of every day the Lord’s thoughts are on you – thoughts and plans to give you a future filled with hope. However, let us not be ignorant, we also have a part to play. We must seek to know what God’s plan is for our lives. We must ask God to show us how we hinder His plans for us or the areas in our lives that need to be corrected. We must be willing to make changes where necessary, to humble ourselves and let go of pride (pride is not just conceit, pride is also a refusal to change or make changes). We must have a desire to walk in the fulness of God’s love and plans for us and a desire and willingness to make necessary changes. Truly today is the greatest day of the rest of your life! Rise up and declare every day: “Today is the greatest day of the rest of my life because the Lord’s thoughts are on me and my thoughts are on Him!”
Prayer: Lord, I thank you for your wonderful thought’s towards all that concerns me. Help me to not only trust in you, but to move with you. Open the eyes of my understanding to the greatness and depth of your love and truth in my life and bless my faith to look forward (not behind – in the past) and move forward with boldness; full of hope in your faithfulness. In Jesus name – Amen!
Psalm 71:5 & 6 – For You are my hope, O Lord God; You are my trust from my youth. By You I have been upheld from birth; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb. My praise shall be continually of You.
